On March 26, at First Literacy’s 36th annual Spelling Bee, Margarheeta Wise, President of MFS Service Center, will receive the “First Literacy Champion Award”. This award is being given in gratitude to Wise, a longtime supporter of First Literacy.

In Pursuit of a Better Life: Luis Marin Named Tom Brunnick Memorial Scholar
Luis moved to Boston in search of an opportunity to learn English and pursue a degree. He took English courses at Maverick Landing Community Services and secured an IT internship with Catholic Charities. Through these programs he learned about First Literacy, which allowed him to help fund his education.
